  7. Here is a cake that my mom used to bake for us.  It is Deeeelicious!

  9. Ingredients:
  10. 1 lb. raisins
  11. 2 cups sugar
  12. 3 cups water
  13. 4 Tbsp shortening
  14. 1/2 tsp salt
  15. 2 tsp baking soda
  16. 1 tsp allspice
  17. 1 tsp cinnamon
  18. 4 cups flour
  19. 1 cup chopped nuts
  20.  
  21. Directions:
  22. Cook for 10 minutes the raisins, sugar and water.  Add the shortening and
  23. let cool.  Add the remaining ingredients.  Bake at 300 degrees for 45 min.
